I am delighted to welcome you to North Ridge Community School.
North Ridge Community School, part of the Nexus Multi Academy Trust, is a special day school for pupils aged 3–19 years with severe learning difficulties, with a small cohort of KS4 and Post-16 learners educated at our off-site provision, The Bridge. At the heart of our school is a shared belief that every child and young person matters and deserves the very best opportunities to succeed.
Our vision at North Ridge is “preparing learners for the future by shaping learning through inspirational and personalised journeys, to be the best they can be.” We strive to ensure that all our children grow into confident individuals who are able to make decisions, develop independence and achieve their personal goals.

We are proud to offer a personalised and inclusive curriculum that meets the diverse needs of all our learners. Our bespoke North Ridge Curriculum provides innovative opportunities and inspiring experiences, underpinned by the Foundation Curriculum and the National Curriculum. Learning is enriched through wider opportunities such as Forest School and the Duke of Edinburgh Award, enabling pupils to develop life skills, resilience and confidence beyond the classroom.
Working in partnership with parents and carers is central to our approach. Together, we support our children and young people to thrive academically, socially and emotionally, ensuring they feel happy, safe and ready for the future.
I am incredibly proud to lead North Ridge Community School and feel privileged to work alongside our wonderful children and young people, their families, and a dedicated team of passionate and hardworking professionals who are committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for every learner.
As part of Nexus Multi Academy Trust, founded in 2016, we share the Trust’s ambition and commitment to collaboration, enrichment and continuous improvement. The Trust vision, “Learning together, to be the best we can be,” is one we fully embrace and live out each day at North Ridge.
